Happy February!! {Black History Month Resources}

Hey friends!
I. AM. SO. SORRY. I have been the worst blogger ever for the past month. It has been such a busy month, and I literally have not had a chance to sit down and blog!
I did want to share a couple of things that have been going on in my classroom lately...

In math, we wrapped up our graphing unit by completing this amazing "All About Graphs" interactive flipbook from TeachesThirdinGeorgia. I have used several of her activities, and they are PERFECT because my kids love them, and so do I!

In social studies, we have been learning about famous people. In Georgia, we are required to teach our students about 9 famous people. Lucky for me, 3rd Grade Gridiron has also taught 3rd grade in Georgia, so she has packets for each of the people that I teach! Each packet is full of activities to help my students learn about these famous people. The best part? There is ZERO prep work, other than making copies for my students. Each packet includes a passage with questions, vocabulary activities, sequencing activities, a writing activity, and more! I have all 9 packets, and they are SO helpful when I am teaching my students about these important people!
Typically, I spend the first day reading the passage aloud to the students while they follow along. If we have time {I only have a 20 minute block for Social Studies}, I will have the students go back and highlight facts that they feel are interesting about the person we are studying. Each day during the week, the students will take out their Social Studies notebook, and complete one of the included activities.

Here are a couple of pictures of my students using evidence from the passage to answer questions about Susan B. Anthony...

Click here to go to 3rd Grade Gridiron's Teachers Pay Teachers store :) Her resources are seriously AWESOME.

I have also been trying to gather resources for Black History Month...I decided to create a Pinterest board so that I could keep all of the great ideas I find in one place - everything that I have pinned to this board is FREE! I will continue pinning things as I find them. Do you have a FREE Black History Resource (or idea) that you'd like me to pin? Just leave the link in the comments, and I'll be more than happy to add it!
Click here to go to my Black History Month Pinterest board.

Last, I wanted to share this Black History Month resource that I recently posted in my TPT store. It contains 5 informational texts with questions for each passage. I have included writing activities to go along with each passage as well. The passages include the following people: Rosa Parks, Jackie Robinson, Sojourner Truth, Jesse Owens, and Booker T. Washington. Click on the cover page below to head over to my store and check it out!

Well, that's all I have to share for tonight! I promise that I will not wait a month before my next post :)

Are you ready to JAM?

Hi friends!
I just wanted to stop in quickly to let all of you know that I am now an official Jamberry Consultant :)
What is Jamberry, you ask? Well, I personally think it's the best thing since sliced bread {my grandmother used to always say that}!!

Jamberry Nail Wraps allow you to have ADORABLE nails without the hassle of going to the salon - you can do them right in the comfort of your own home! What's even better is that these don't chip like regular nail polish does. They stay on your nails for around 2 weeks, which is so great, because I definitely don't have the time {or patience} to paint my nails every 2-3 days! As teachers, we don't always have the time or overflowing funds to hit the salon to have fabulous nails, but with Jamberry, you can still have rockin' nails!

I applied a set of the wraps to my nails on Sunday, and here it is Wednesday and they still look just as lovely as they did when I applied them! Had I painted them with nail polish, I would have already had to do several touch-ups to keep them looking good.

I used Mint Green & Gold Horizontal Pinstripe with Leopard as an accent :)

Seriously, I am OBSESSED with these things...and with over 300 designs currently available, there are endless possibilities!
Here are the Top 20 Trends for December:

Jamberry has just released new styles just in time for Valentine's Day, and they are TOO CUTE! Get your orders in now, so that you will have these in your hands (and on your fingertips!) in time for Valentine's Day! I am loving LOVE NOTE :)

Another great thing about Jamberry is that they have an entire line for little ones called Jamberry Juniors - I can't wait to try them out on my 7-year-old niece..

I am so excited for my new adventure with Jamberry - feel free to check out my Jamberry site to browse the styles...I'll warn you though - you will fall in love with AT LEAST 100 of them ;)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Be sure you have gone through the blog hop that ends tomorrow, and make sure you register for the AWESOME prizes at the end of the hop!

Christmas Questionnaire Linky

Hey y'all!
I'm linking up with Michelle at Fabulous in First for her Christmas Questionnaire Linky :)

Hot Chocolate or Eggnog?
Definitely hot chocolate! I've never tried eggnog, and I don't plan to ever try it - the name alone grosses me out!

Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them underneath the tree?
When I was younger, Santa did both. The bigger presents were laid out, and the smaller ones were wrapped. When I got a little bit older, my stepmom would wrap our gifts in "code" - and she wouldn't let us know what the code was until Christmas morning. My sisters and I LOVED it! For example, the code might have been my gifts were wrapped in snowmen wrapping paper, my sister's were wrapped in Santa wrapping paper, and my stepsister's were wrapped in reindeer wrapping paper. It was so much fun trying to crack the code ourselves - which we never did. :)

Colored lights or white?
White. We decorate our tree in a Georgia Bulldogs theme, so the ornaments are red, black, and silver :)

Real or Fake Tree?
I have ALWAYS had a real tree for Christmas - one year my hubby and I used a fake one, but I definitely prefer real. You can't beat the smell!

What Tops Your Tree?
 A silver star

Favorite Christmas Memories or Traditions?
My favorite Christmas memory is from Christmas morning 2 years ago - it's when my husband proposed! :) Remember up above where I said we used a fake tree one year? Well, we had been really busy and hadn't had the time to put up a Christmas tree. I was pretty upset, because I had never NOT had a tree. Well, my sweet hubby woke up in the middle of the night and decorated a fake Christmas tree that we had in storage - my ring was hanging on it when I woke up the next morning :)

Do you remember your favorite gift as a child?
I don't remember a specific gift, but I'm sure it was a baby doll - I was ALL about the baby dolls when I was younger!

Do prefer giving or receiving?
I love GIVING! I have so much fun picking out gifts for people. My problem is waiting until Christmas to give them the gifts..I get so excited that I want to give it to them right then :)

What is your favorite Christmas song?
Mariah Carey's version of "All I Want for Christmas is You" - I LOVE to jam out to that one in the car and PRETEND that I can sing.

Candy Canes. Yuck or Yum?
Yuck - they're too sticky and I don't like anything peppermint flavored.

Favorite Christmas Movie?
Home Alone (that's kind of a Christmas movie, right?)

Do you shop online or at stores?
In stores!

Photo Cards, Letter or Store Bought Card?
I love giving and receiving photo cards!

Go link up with Michelle to share your answers to the Christmas Questionnaire!!

**Don't forget to enter the giveaway I have going on right now - you only have one more day to enter to win some FABULOUS prizes, including a $25 TPT gift certificate!!**
