Assess Me Linky!

Hey friends!
I hope that you are enjoying the last few hours/days/weeks of summer! I know that some of you are starting back this coming week, and others {like me} are so lucky to still have a few more weeks of summer. I go back in 5 weeks, which is great BUT I have a lot of work to do in my classroom! As soon as the cleaners finish up, I'll be in there working away getting it ready for my new group of 3rd graders :)

Today, I'm linking up with The Tattooed Teacher for her fun new linky - Assess Me!

1) I love to talk, but haven't ever really been one to talk to myself.
2) My mom is VERY superstitious, but I never have been. I don't have time to remember all of the "rules" of being superstitious haha :)
3) Unfortunately, this is a bad habit of mine. You can always tell when I'm nervous because I'm the one popping my fingers like crazy!
4) My husband and I just finished dinner a little while ago, so I'm not hungry at the moment! Give me a little while and I probably will be though!
5) Yes my TV is on - my husband is watching one of his shows on Netflix while I catch up on my blog stalking!
6) I had my wisdom teeth removed when I was 24 - they took all 4 of them at the same time. That was the first time I had ever had an IV, and I was more scared about it than the actual surgery!
7) I did shower this morning before church.
8) I have been to Disney twice - once when I was 8 years old and again when I was in the 6th grade. It's been a while - I need to go back!
9) Yep - you'll usually find me with glasses on my face :)
10) I sure do! I live 1 town over from the one I was born in as well. I live and teach in the same county where I graduated high school.

Well...there's my assessment for the day! Head over to Rachel's blog to join in on the fun!

Shark Week Blog Hop {with FREEBIES}!

All teachers know that kids learn more when they’re excited and engaged. Today a team of bloggers come together to help your students take a BITE out of learning with a theme your students are sure to love!

Slide6

My Shark Week freebie is a non-fiction passage on the Great White Shark. It includes one passage with 5 comprehension questions. The questions are NOT multiple choice - students must cite evidence from the text to prove their answers. We all know that this is such an important skill! The pack also includes a diagram - one that is already labeled and the other with fill-in blanks. The passage is written on a 3rd grade level, so it is ideal for use in grades 2nd through 4th.
