I'm so excited to finally join the blogging world! I've been a blog stalker for a while now..so I'm ready to jump feet first into this experience :)
I decided to start this blog not only to share ideas that I use in my 3rd grade classroom, but to gain insight from so many of the AMAZING bloggers out there!
I'll start off by telling you a little bit about myself, then we'll get to the fun stuff.
My name is Lacey, and I am a third grade teacher, wife, sister, daughter, best friend, shopaholic, and Instagram addict (I swear - I get so many ideas on IG!). I was born and raised in the Peach State! :)
I spent the last 5 years teaching in the same school, and this year, I will be moving to another school in my district. I am thrilled to join a new team of teachers, and can't wait for the school year to begin!
I am very lucky, because the district I work in is on a 160 day calendar instead of 180 days..this means that we don't start school until after Labor Day (September 3 this year), and we still get out at the end of May. We do have extended hours, with school being from 7:15 - 3:00, but it's worth it to me to have an extra month off in the summer! :)
I have a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education, and am currently pursuing my Specialist Degree in Teacher Leadership. I'll be finished in December - I'm so ready to graduate! After that, no more degrees for me!
My husband and I don't have any children yet, but we do have a furbaby! Gracie is a chocolate lab/Weimaraner mix, and she is definitely our baby!
Our Gracie Girl
We also have 2 nieces, Macy (7) and Isabella (2), who we love to spoil rotten! They are my sister's girls, and they have my heart for sure!
Ok, now that you know a little bit about me, we'll get to the fun part of this post - the GIVEAWAY!!! I have several blogger buddies that have so generously donated some AWESOME items from their Teachers Pay Teachers stores! Be sure that you enter each of the Rafflecopters below to be entered to win some of these fabulous prizes :)

First Day Jitters is one of the books I usually read on the first day of school. The kids think it's funny that the teacher is hiding in the bed.

DeleteMy favorite read-aloud for the first day is First Day Jitters. I love the twist at the end! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteSara
Me too!! Thanks for stopping by! :)
DeleteHi Slant Box Buddy! My favorite read-aloud on the first day of school is "Beware of Boys". I love the story because it is about a boy who gets caught by a wolf and, rather than getting upset at being in a really bad situation, he uses his head and gets out of the situation. I have found that students seem to relate with this story. Thank you for the give-away!
ReplyDeleteAnne Ledbetter
Hi Anne! So glad you could stop by :) I've never heard of "Beware of Boys" - I'll definitely have to check that one out!
DeleteI'll be sending your box out this weekend - so excited :)
Lacey
Holy cow! I can't believe I won -- I am so thrilled! I look forward to receiving my box, I just know I will love it. The author of "Beware of Boys" is Tony Blundell. It is really cute with great pictures.
